Shyamalika is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Genetics and Biochemistry and the Center for Human Genetics at Clemson University. She received her PhD from the Department of Ecology and Evolution at Stony Brook University, and did postdoctoral work at the University of Southern California and Duke University.
Pro's research in the lab investigates how natural selection and genetic drift jointly drive differentiation in polygenic trait architecture across populations under complex demographic histories. She received her PhD in Biological Sciences from Ohio University, where she was advised by Dr. Diego Alvarado-Serrano. Previously, she earned her BS-MS from the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Kolkata, India.
Esdras' research interests lie in the use of statistical methods and evolutionary modeling tools to study how population history, environmental variation, and genetics interact to shape the evolution of complex traits. Before joining the lab, he earned a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences and an M.S. in Animal Science at the University of Missouri. Prior to that, he earned a BS from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, majoring in Integrated Science.
Adeyemi's dissertation investigates how DNAm rates evolve in with longevity across mammals and identifies genes and biological pathways that are implicated in the process. He received his BSc and MSc from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria. He was then awarded an Erasmus Mundus Scholarship to study Evolutionary Biology, where he obtained a double master’s degree from University of Groningen, the Netherlands, and University of Montpellier, France.
Devin's dissertation focuses on studying how genetic variants influence DNA methylation across diverse human populations. He is currently working on mapping DNA methylation quantitative trait loci (meQTLs) long-read sequencing data from the 1000 Genomes Project. Prior to starting his PhD at Clemson, he worked as a Bioinformatics Analyst at Greenwood Genetic Center building automated clinical sequencing pipelines. He holds an MS in Genetics from Clemson University and a BS from Florida State University.
